Social commerce, over the last few years, has grown exponentially. With the increase in the amount of people who are using social media and the number of platforms being introduced, it is only natural that e-commerce and social media come together as one and completely change our online shopping experience, with the most notable ones being Facebook and Instagram.
These two networks have a huge audience worldwide which has transformed them into networks capable of almost anything, including e-commerce.
We now live in a world dominated by social media marketing and e-commerce and, thanks to our reliance on social media, they have come together in ways most would never have thought possible. With social commerce, you are now able to shop on Facebook and Instagram (and other platforms too, such as Pinterest) with your favorite brands and retailers, without ever having to leave the platform to finalize your purchase.
Amazon took it even a step further by developing its own social network. Spark is focused heavily on shopping, allowing customers access to discounts and promotions but also to reviews and opinions about products. In a sense, it is an emulation of a real-life marketplace because shopping is intrinsically social.
If you are a business without a presence on social media, now is the time to get on there; social commerce is still in its infancy and it is a brilliant and relatively simple way to boost your sales. No matter what your business or product is, you will still be able to find success through social commerce.
