According to one report 100,000 websites get hacked daily, that’s the reason today i am writing How To Backup WordPress Blog For Free On DropBox. Having backups for your WordPress blogs is essential, as they can help restoring your blog in case of hacking or getting infected by viruses.
There are many paid services out there, like VaultPress, Backup Buddy etc, but the problem with them is they cost money usually in the form of monthly subscriptions, which is out of option for newbies, so don’t worry there is a free way out. I will teach you how to keep backups with free plugin named wpb2d not only on your computer but on cloud ( DropBox ).
How To Backup WordPress Blog For Free On DropBox :
Step 1 ) log-in into your WordPress Dashboard then head towards >> Plugins >> Add New >> and search for “WordPress Backup To Dropbox ” then install and activate plugin.
Note :- Make sure you have Free “Dropbox” account, if not signup for one and then sign-in into it.
Step 2 ) After activating plugin, open >> WPB2D >>Backup Setting >> and hit Authorize.
Step 3 ) after hitting Authorize, new window will open where DropBox ask’s whether you want this plugin to manage your DropBox or not, simply hit Allow, and you are good to go. after hitting allow DropBox will show success dialog box >> Now head towards your plugin and hit continue.
Step 4 ) Now after your DropBox account is linked , you can change settings according to your taste , i simply created back up on weekly bases and didn’t excluded any files, but it’s up to you , you can exclude any files you want, or you can change frequency on which backups are created. note :- Don’t forget to press “Save Changes”.
By simply going to >> WPB2D >> Backup Monitor >> you can check all the logs of backups which are being created, you can retrieve those backups by simply opening folder named “WPB2D” in your DropBox account.
Last Notes :- There are many Paid services out there, but they are expensive, if you can’t afford them, this the best way to keep backups of your WordPress blogs until you can afford one premium backup service.This is the best and easiest way of storing backup of your WordPress Blog in cloud.
